ChompSaw Maker Bundle

The ChompSaw Maker Bundle gives your child something most young makers desperately want: a power tool he can actually use himself. ChompSaw cuts cardboard, felt, craft foam, and other soft materials up to 3mm thick without exposed blades or spinning parts, so he can turn his ideas into real constructions without needing an adult to make every cut.

ChompSaw works almost like a rapid-fire hole punch, chomping its way through material while a metal safety guard keeps fingers away from the cutting mechanism. It’s designed not to cut fingers or catch hair or clothing. Just plug it in and start building—no batteries or charging required.

ChompSaw itself is designed for makers ages 3 and up, and we can vouch for the appeal at the younger end—our 3-year-old loves it! For a child who doesn’t yet have the hand strength or scissor skills to cut cardboard, being able to guide it through ChompSaw himself opens up a whole new world of building. The Maker Bundle is rated for ages 8+ because its directions, patterns, and precision accessories require more dexterity and skill, but younger children can still get plenty of supervised use from ChompSaw itself.

The Maker Bundle adds tools for more precise building. The fence helps make straight cuts from ¼" to 3½", the circle guide creates consistent circles, and the angle guide handles angles in 15-degree increments. A hole punch lets your child begin cuts away from an edge, while the scoring tool makes cleaner folds and helps prepare thicker cardboard for cutting.

One question we had was, how loud is this tool? ChompSaw runs at about 70–75 decibels, roughly comparable to a household vacuum. It has been safety tested for children’s hearing, but it can still sound loud, particularly to a sound-sensitive child or adult. Hearing protection can make it more comfortable—and earmuffs and safety goggles (not included) have the added benefit of making a young maker feel delightfully official while introducing good power-tool habits.

The included Inventor’s Workbook adds engineering and design challenges that teach your child to plan, prototype, troubleshoot, and improve his ideas, while ChompShop’s online Learning Hub provides additional projects and video tutorials. Cardboard headed for the recycling bin can become armor, vehicles, buildings, inventions, prototypes—or whatever he has decided absolutely needs to exist that afternoon.

The Maker Bundle includes ChompSaw, a hole punch, a scoring tool, an attachable fence, a circle guide, an angle guide, and the Inventor’s Workbook, along with access to the online Learning Hub. ChompSaw plugs into a standard outlet, stores its power supply beneath the lid, and collects cutting debris internally for easier cleanup.
