Help your child develop writing skills using daily lessons that fit into every language arts program. Are you familiar with trait writing? Trait-based writing is an impressive method educators have developed to determine if a child's writing is skilled or not.
The six traits or characteristics that shape quality writing are content; organization; word choice; sentence fluency; voice; and conventions, which include grammar, spelling, and mechanics. It may sound ominous, but Daily 6-Trait Writing has made it effortless.
With 125 dynamic writing lessons, Daily 6-Trait Writing will provide your child practice and instruction concerning all the skills essential to becoming a competent writer. Research proves that a solid understanding of the six traits of writing improves a child's ability to write successfully, and just fifteen minutes or less a day is all it will take. This has been the framework for our writing curriculum this year. We learn the components of writing and then apply it to short response questions or essays that we write in Mosdos curriculum.
I like how these are laid out and how they are supposed to be short lessons. My son struggles with writing (suspected dysgraphia) and it's a little hard for him to complete, but that just means we spread it out over more days.
These lessons are well laid out and don't take much time to complete. A little bit every day builds your student's writing proficiency in a natural way. The book includes instruction for the teacher to give the child.
My younger kids enjoy this product but my 8year old is not loving this product this year. It’s a valuable addition to any language arts study program. Quick and daily writing practice. Definitely important and useful.
Love this book. Easy to follow direct instructions that your child can complete with little to no instruction.
