Doodle Your Day
Doodle Your Day is a guided journal that invites children to capture everyday experiences through drawing, writing, doodling, and creative projects. With 365 prompts—one for every day of the year—it provides a simple, low-pressure way to encourage creativity, observation, and self-expression.
The prompts vary widely to keep things fresh. One day, your child might sketch what he ate for lunch. Another might ask him to record something funny that happened, create a themed doodle, complete a word challenge, or paste a small keepsake onto the page. The variety makes journaling feel more like a creative adventure than a writing assignment.
As the year progresses, children naturally practice drawing, writing, observation, and reflection as they create a personal record of their experiences. Even reluctant writers may find it easier to respond to a quick prompt than to face a blank journal page.
Designed for ages 8 and up, Doodle Your Day offers enough flexibility for artistic children while remaining approachable for those who prefer simple sketches and short written responses. A handful of prompts may benefit from a quick parent preview, but most families will find the book an easy addition to their daily routine.
By the end of the year, your child won't just have completed a journal—he'll have created a unique snapshot of his year, filled with memories, observations, and creative discoveries that might otherwise have been forgotten.

So fun and creative!

My KG daughter just loves starting the day with a fun Doodle and she really enjoys the wacky word days. Some of the prompts have led to researching topics as well.

Doodle journaling

We plan on starting this on January first. I wanted something to follow up the doodling we did with My Year of Discovery journaling. Son balks at writing, so I've been trying to find other strategies to develop communication of ideas. This book still expects some writing, despite my hope of 100% drawing. So, we will be modifying those writing days to drawing.

Really cool
Aaron K.
My daughter's literal words were, "It is one of those cool things that you never do." So while we really liked it, it just didn't get used in our house.

A great inspirational daily doodle book with prompts of what to doodle, word of the day, collecting items. It's more than just doodling. All 3 of my kids have enjoyed it.

Fun!

This has been a really fun way for my 6th grader to journal. Some days he is more into it than others but it’s always fun. He especially likes the “wacky word of the day”. Monkeyshines is a new addition to his vocabulary now!
