Draw and Learn: Animals & Places
Draw & Learn: Animals + Places is a preschool drawing activity book that helps children develop early drawing skills, fine motor control, and creativity through simple, guided illustrations. A longtime homeschool favorite, this Timberdoodle-exclusive edition invites young learners to complete colorful scenes by adding missing details to animals, homes, rooms, and habitats.
Designed for children of all artistic abilities, each page provides just enough guidance to build confidence while still leaving plenty of room for creativity. Your child might draw whiskers on a cat, add a chimney to a house, or give a frog its eyes and smile. These simple additions encourage careful observation and help children become more comfortable using pencils and crayons.
As your child completes each scene, he's strengthening pencil control, hand-eye coordination, and the foundational skills needed for handwriting. The open-ended activities also encourage storytelling, vocabulary development, and creative thinking as children decide how to finish each picture.
With bright illustrations and inviting pages, Draw & Learn: Animals + Places offers a gentle introduction to drawing without the pressure of following complicated directions or creating a perfect result. Instead, it gives your child repeated opportunities to create, experiment, and build confidence one picture at a time.

Son is coloring better
Karina A.
My 4 year old son is learning how to outline, color, draw faces, and more. Today, he colored a picture of a dog, and he mostly stayed in the lines and filled in all the white spaces. I recommend this book to parents of pre-schoolers. They'll enjoy it.

Great Art Book
Dorothy W.
My 4 year old and I really like this book. It gives concise and clear instructions but also allows room for creativity. It gives good examples when showing how to draw something new. The art is very cute and in the style of a young artist so the child feels more comfortable and not intimidated trying a new skill.

Both of my kiddos loved this activity book. Great way to get kids to think of drawing things in more than stick figures and basic shapes.

Fun Art Book
Jennie S.
This is a great intro into drawing. Not the most engaging but its age appropriate for my 4 year old. He just has a short attention span. So we only do about 2 pages which is ok I just wished it would take him a little longer to work in it.
