Exploring Creation with Biology
Exploring Creation with Biology is a Christian high school biology course that helps your teen develop a thorough understanding of life science while recognizing the complexity and purpose of God's creation.
This honors-level course covers the major areas of biology across 16 modules, including cell structure, genetics, DNA, microbiology, classification, plants, animals, ecology, photosynthesis, and biological systems. Written in a conversational style, the full-color student textbook presents challenging scientific concepts with clear explanations, detailed illustrations, study prompts, and real-world applications.
This complete set includes the student textbook, Student Notebook, and Solutions & Tests Manual. Together, these resources provide both academic rigor and practical support for independent learning.
One of the course's strongest features is the comprehensive Student Notebook. The spiral-bound notebook includes a built-in schedule, guided note-taking pages, structured study guides, lab report forms, review activities, and spaces for recording observations and completing assignments. Cornell-style note-taking pages help students develop the study skills needed for future academic success.
Laboratory work is integrated throughout the course, giving students opportunities to apply concepts through observation, experimentation, microscope work, and dissections. Detailed instructions and dedicated lab-report pages help students develop sound scientific and reporting practices.
The included Solutions & Tests Manual provides tests, answer keys, and grading support, making the course straightforward to implement while maintaining a high academic standard.
Designed as a full-year high school biology credit, Exploring Creation with Biology prepares students for future studies in chemistry, anatomy, environmental science, and other advanced sciences. Whether your teen plans to pursue a science-related career or simply needs a strong foundation in biology, this rigorous, Bible-based course provides a comprehensive introduction to the study of life.

great CLEP test prep
blessed4xover
After doing Apologia's Physical Science, we switched to Switched on Schoolhouse following the birth of our 4th child. After the first year of SOS, it was clear we needed to switch back to Apologia. Our oldest daughter tested out of 2 semesters of college biology after completing this book. Our 2nd daughter took college biology for dual credit at our local community college, and said this text prepared her well. Our son finished it, understood it well, and liked it. We will stay with Apologia!

Top Notch!

I appreciated being able to have my son study a Biology text with such a strong Biblical foundation. The author clearly states opposing secular views and gives solid reasons for refuting them. It is important to for our kids to know both sides which encourages them to be thinkers. It is an accedemically challenging course in my opinion.

Explorers Beware!
Pam f.
I have used Apologia science with all four of my kids. The youngest is now devouring the Biology text. For those of us with science nerds, beware! This book is addictive. My kids have had a hard time putting it down and making it last all year. The author starts small, read microscopic, and works up to larger animals. Whereas you can do the whole course without breaking out a microscope or a dissection kit, why would you want to? The 'scope gives the student a chance to learn to use an advanced piece of equipment properly. Dissection, while admittedly gross, gives the kids a chacne for hands on exploration. But you can substitute virtual dissection and web-based videos of microscopic animals. These books are well worth the investment.
