The game includes a game board, a candy house, Hansel and Gretel pieces, lollipop obstacles, candy pieces, a challenge booklet, and a wordless picture book inspired by the classic tale. Although the game is based on Hansel and Gretel, there is no witch game piece, and the colorful candy theme keeps the focus on solving the puzzles rather than retelling the story. While the original fairy tale is darker than many families prefer, the game stands comfortably on its own. If you'd rather skip the wordless storybook, the gameplay loses nothing by doing so.

- Begin each challenge by setting up the pieces exactly as shown in the booklet. Encourage your child to study the board for a moment before making the first move. Because the lollipop pieces can move only one space before locking into place, a little planning goes a long way.
- If your child gets stuck, resist the urge to solve the puzzle. Ask questions like, "What happens if you move this piece first?" or "Can Hansel and Gretel both reach the exit?" Giving gentle prompts helps build perseverance and problem-solving skills.
