Let’s Start Coding Base Kit
Many coding programs teach children to write code on a screen. The Let’s Start Coding Base Kit goes a step further by connecting coding to physical results children can see, hear, and interact with.
Designed for ages 8+, the kit includes a Maker Board 2 microcontroller, LEDs, push buttons, a turning knob, a mini speaker, reference cards, and a retractable USB cable. Together, these components allow children to build and program projects while learning how code interacts with real hardware.
The kit includes more than 50 beginner-friendly projects that gradually introduce concepts such as loops, conditionals, inputs, outputs, and problem-solving through hands-on builds. Children create projects such as blinking lights, flashlights, simple musical instruments, alarms, and more.
Unlike many introductory coding products, the projects use real C++ code while remaining approachable for beginners. Tutorial videos walk students through projects step by step, helping them understand not only what the code does but why it works.
Because everything runs directly from a connected computer, there are no batteries to manage and no soldering required. Simply connect to a Windows, Mac, or Chromebook computer and begin building.
Parents appreciate that coding stops feeling abstract once children can immediately see their code controlling lights, sounds, and physical components.
