Little Red Riding Hood transforms a beloved fairy tale into a hands-on logic puzzle. Each challenge asks children to build a path through the forest to help Little Red Riding Hood find her way to Grandma's house.
The game begins simply, with younger players creating a path for Little Red alone. As the challenges become more difficult, the wolf joins the adventure. Now both characters need their own routes through the woods, with the wolf reaching Grandma's house first.
Using path pieces, trees, houses, and character figures, children work through 48 challenges that gradually increase in difficulty. Helpful flower clues provide extra support for beginners, while each puzzle's single solution encourages careful observation and logical thinking.
As children play, they naturally strengthen planning, problem-solving, pattern recognition, and spatial reasoning skills—all while helping familiar storybook characters navigate the forest.

How to Use Little Red Riding Hood
- Choose a challenge and set up the house, trees, and characters exactly as shown on the puzzle card.
- Using the path pieces, create a route that leads Little Red Riding Hood to Grandma's house. In the beginner challenges, you'll build a path for Red alone. As the puzzles become more difficult, the wolf joins the adventure and requires a separate path of his own.
- Encourage your child to experiment with different path arrangements and make adjustments when pieces don't fit as expected. The challenges gradually increase in difficulty, helping young puzzlers build confidence as they learn.
- After solving a puzzle, invite your child to retell the story. Who arrived at Grandma's house first? What happened along the way? This simple extension adds a little imagination and narration practice to the activity.
- One or two puzzles each week provides a steady dose of logic practice.

This was the fourth SmartGame we did with my son back in like preschool or Kindergarten when he was like 4-5 years old. For that age group, it was a good challenge to think through how to put things together so they made a path to the cottage. For older kids, we did Smart Dog Obstacle Run which uses the same mechanic at a higher level and it was great. We have fond memories of doing this together. We continue to pick up SmartGames and they tend to get a bit harder as you progress, so you can see the growth in puzzle solving and spacial reasoning.

Tricky but fun

My 3 year old and 6 year old both use this game. It can be challenging but very fun and so fulfilling for them when they can figure it out. Its better for my 6 year old. A little too challenging for my 3 year old but still enjoyable for both of them.

Absolutely adorable and fun

The pieces are great for imaginative play and the puzzle is challenging but not overwhelming where he doesn't feel successful. We started out with Apple Twist and he found twisting the pieces a little difficult. This is much easier for children who don't have much dexterity yet.

This is such a great game! My children, ages 3-11, all enjoy this game. It is a fun, quick, independent game for break time between subjects. It is also a great game for a math center. How fun is it to connect your literacy units with this fun game! Really, it is the perfect extension.
