Calculus is the study of change, motion, and accumulation, providing students with the mathematical tools used in fields ranging from engineering and physics to economics and computer science. Math-U-See Calculus helps students develop a strong understanding of these advanced concepts through a structured, mastery-based approach.
In this course, students explore limits, continuity, derivatives, and integrals while learning how these concepts describe and predict real-world phenomena. They develop the ability to analyze rates of change, calculate areas under curves, model motion, and solve increasingly complex mathematical problems.
Additional topics include optimization, related rates, applications of derivatives and integrals, the Chain Rule, L'Hôpital's Rule, and other foundational concepts commonly encountered in a first-year calculus course. Throughout the program, students learn not only how to perform calculations but also how to understand the mathematical principles behind them.
Like all Math-U-See levels, Calculus introduces concepts incrementally and emphasizes understanding before moving forward. Clear video instructions, worked examples, and systematic practice help students build confidence as they master advanced mathematical ideas.
Instructional videos for Calculus are available on DVD, included in the Bundle.
Designed for students who have completed PreCalculus, Math-U-See Calculus provides a strong foundation for college mathematics, engineering, science, economics, computer science, and other STEM-related fields.

Math-U-See is a skills-based program that focuses on student mastery of a concept before progressing to the next concept. Because of this, it is not aligned with the common core and, therefore, may not meet the requirements of state standardized tests.
In other words, Math-U-See covers topics in a logical sequence, which may not exactly correlate with the more scattered assortment of skills that are typical for each grade. Parents who wish to compare the Common Core State Standards for kindergarten through sixth grade with the content taught in Math-U-See can do so here.

We’ve been homeschooling 9 children for 30 years. Although we’ve tried all the “best” like Saxon and Singapore Math-U- See is hands down the best program for this family. Math is the favorite subject of all our kids. Even our Little one in kindergarten who has severe special needs and developmental delays lives having his very own primer book this year. The community college where all of our graduates start their higher does does not allow any students to test out of Pre calculus no matter how many AP courses they have completed in high school. However, all three of our college students were given special exception to go straight to Calculus after the head of the math department at the college saw their math u see text books from Pre calculus and calculus. This program prepares them well for college as engineering, math and physics majors.
