Mose's Detective Agency
Enter a classic detective's office and bring every detail to life. Mose's Detective Agency is an intricate miniature model kit that recreates a richly furnished British-style investigation office, complete with working LED lights, framed artwork, furniture, books, and dozens of tiny accessories.
Your teen will assemble nearly every element from scratch, constructing wooden furniture, arranging decorative details, installing lighting, and transforming hundreds of individual pieces into a finished display worthy of a bookshelf or desk. The result is a remarkably detailed scene filled with the atmosphere of a vintage detective story.
While the written instructions can occasionally be awkwardly translated, the kit relies heavily on clear visual diagrams, making the assembly process much easier to follow. Most required materials are included, with only basic supplies such as glue and scissors needed separately.
This project rewards patience, precision, and careful attention to detail. As your teen works through the build, he'll strengthen fine-motor skills, spatial reasoning, and perseverance while creating a miniature scene that feels both challenging and satisfying to complete.
For teens who enjoy model building, miniatures, or a good mystery, Mose's Detective Agency offers an engaging hands-on project and an impressive finished display piece.
How to Use Mose's Detective Agency
- Before getting started, gather a pair of scissors and your preferred craft glue. Nearly everything else needed for the project is included in the kit.
- Set aside about 30 minutes a week, or longer if your teen prefers immersive projects. The build can be completed gradually over several weeks or tackled in larger sessions during school breaks, weekends, or quiet afternoons.
- Encourage your teen to work carefully through the visual instructions. While the written directions can occasionally be awkward to translate, the detailed diagrams make the assembly process much easier to follow.
- As the project progresses, your teen will construct furniture, install lighting, assemble decorative accessories, and bring the miniature detective's office to life one detail at a time. The process rewards patience, organization, and attention to detail far more than speed.
- Consider displaying completed sections as they are finished. Watching the office take shape can be highly motivating and helps your teen appreciate the craftsmanship involved in miniature building.
- When complete, your teen will have a beautifully detailed display piece and the satisfaction of knowing he assembled nearly every element himself.

Want to know more? There are a few reasons why product packaging is sometimes flimsy.
- Cost savings. Using less material in packaging can save companies money, which means you save money.
- Sustainability. Some companies are using less packaging to be more sustainable. This is especially true for products shipped long distances, as less packaging means less weight and less fuel to transport the products.
- Ease of shipping. Lightweight (dust cover) packaging can make it easier to ship products, as it takes up less space.
- Marketing. Some companies use dust cover packaging as a billboard to market their products. This brightly colored packaging is designed to catch consumers' attention in a retail store.
“Mose’s Detective Agency is a DIY miniature replica of what you might expect to find in a 1920’s-era British-style detective agency’s office. No detail was spared – an umbrella, envelopes, a typewriter, a newspaper, an investigation board, a working desk lamp, a magnifying glass that actually works, and more are all included!”Read the Review
Thrift Schooling
Do any of you have children that are outgrowing their toys but they aren't quite sure what to ask for as gifts? They are too old for toys, but too young for a driver's license. What to do? These tiny dollhouse-style kits are the perfect solution.”Read the Review
Homeschool Happenings
"There is a story behind Rolife miniatures, a scene they focus on, and an atmosphere they create for viewers. My daughter said that the detective seems disorganized, loves libations, and probably has too many cases underway at once. The detail is amazing. The hat and pipe remind you of Sherlock Holmes. One can surmise that possibly Mose's Detective Agency is in England and belongs to an male English detective.”Read the Review

The Mose's Detective Agency arrived with my son's 11th grade curriculum kit. He really enjoys doing miniature builds like model vehicles and the like. If we went to a craft store, he might not have chosen something like this off the shelf on his own, but now that he has it in his kit, he is really enjoying it. The details are great! It's challenging without becoming frustrating. He enjoys working on it here and there, but he does have the desk space to do that. My other son would probably just do the build in one sitting.
