My First Pencils
My First Pencils are designed specifically for beginning writers. Their chunky barrel fits small hands more comfortably than standard pencils, helping young children develop a proper grip while reducing hand fatigue during writing and drawing activities.
The thick 2B graphite core writes smoothly with less pressure, making it easier for children to create dark, visible lines as they practice forming letters, numbers, and shapes. Because the core is wider than a traditional pencil, it also stands up better to the heavy pressure many new writers naturally use.
Each pencil comes pre-sharpened and includes a large eraser for easy corrections. A sharpener is also included, so you're ready to use the pencils right out of the package.
If your child is just beginning handwriting instruction, the larger size and sturdy construction of My First Pencils can make early writing practice more comfortable and less frustrating.

Excellent Starter Pencils
Dorothy W.
I'd give these a 4.5 if I could but rounded up to 5. My son and I both really like these pencils. The shorter and fatter design is crucial for him to having a more comfortable and successful writing experience for pencil and writing practice. Also the package comes with a pencil sharpener so if you didn't get the sharpener located in the kit or you misplaced it, you have a good backup on hand. The pencils are sturdy and durable which is also a must at this age as well, they don't break easily and the "lead" doesn't snap or smudge without you really trying hard to do so. I'd bump off half a star for 2 reasons. One is that the eraser on the pencil is NOT very good. THAT will smudge and stain your work. We use a seperate eraser of a different brand because it's that bad. Also, the designs on the pencil are cute but the heat and friction of hands will have them rubbed off very quickly and the design ink will stain the hands holding the pencil. Nothing a little soap and water won't fix but it's still annoying to deal with. All in all, these pencils are a win, definitely preferable to what was in past kits, and we will continue to use them with pleasure.

My favorite pencils for my kids!
LaDonna H.
These pencils are wonderful for kids. They are the perfect diameter and length for smaller hands. The lead is soft so it writes nice and dark. The eraser is large and works great. I am so happy to have found these pencils!

We’ve had a few packs of these and even tho the erasers go first I hand into them as they don’t break easily and are great for the younger kids.

We love that these have erasers and actually well working ones. The colors are fun as well. My daughter always uses the magenta ones and my sons use the other colors. They all love them. Great size for little hands. Even a bit older kids like my 8 year old likes them.

I love the size of these. Perfect for little hands and the erasers actually work! My kids love the different colors. Better than other similar pencils we’ve tried.
