Picto Kits transform fabric scraps into keepsake artwork through a simple three-step process that's equal parts craft, puzzle, and creative expression. Place fabric over an opening in the wooden board, press the matching wooden piece into place, then trim away the extra fabric. Once your child learns the process, he can create any design in the Picto Kit collection—no artistic experience required.
Each kit includes hand-selected upcycled fabric, a wooden display frame, assembly hardware, a coloring page, an encouraging message, fun facts, and access to a step-by-step video tutorial. The included fabric creates a beautiful finished project, but families can also personalize their artwork with meaningful fabrics such as a favorite T-shirt, baby blanket, or other treasured keepsake, making every creation truly one of a kind.
As your child chooses fabrics, matches shapes, and assembles each section, he'll strengthen fine motor skills, visual-spatial reasoning, creative decision-making, and confidence. Because fabric can be repositioned before trimming, the process is forgiving and encourages experimentation rather than perfection. Most projects take 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on age and the amount of detail added.
Hand-assembled by a husband-and-wife team, every Picto Kit uses upcycled fabric from the clothing industry, giving beautiful leftover textiles a second life. This art kit is such a novel concept! How neat to use fabric scraps to make a new art project. The wood was good quality. You have to bang on a nice hard surface to get the fabric covered wood into the spots but it holds beautifully afterwards. It does not take a long time to do this project but the choices are almost endless.

Loved this kit! So creative. So different. So much to learn. I’m thrilled that the creators of this kit figured out a fun way to use fabric waste that would otherwise fill the trash. It makes a beautiful work of art, nice enough to hang in your own home or to give as a handmade gift.

Quick and fun project

This Picto Kit arrived with my son's second grade curriculum kit. It was a little tricky for him to do on his own as some of the material was quite slippery but he was quite proud of it when he was finished. The project itself was completed in one sitting and comes with a great backing to help display the finished project.
