Quixo
At first glance, Quixo looks a little like tic-tac-toe. Then someone makes the first move, an entire row shifts, and suddenly the strategy gets a whole lot more interesting.
The goal is simple: be the first player to get five of your symbols in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. But unlike tic-tac-toe, every move changes the board. On each turn, players remove a cube from the edge, mark it with their symbol, and slide it back into a new position, shifting an entire row or column in the process.
That single twist transforms Quixo into a game of planning, prediction, and adaptation. Just when you think you've lined up the winning move, your opponent may slide the board and change everything. Every turn requires players to think ahead, evaluate possibilities, and keep an eye on both offense and defense.
As players compete, they naturally strengthen logical reasoning, strategic thinking, spatial awareness, and problem-solving skills. The rules are easy to learn in just a few minutes, but the depth of play keeps students, teens, and adults engaged game after game.

How to Use Quixo
- Set aside 15–20 minutes for a game once or twice a week. Quixo is quick to learn, quick to play, and easy to fit into a homeschool day, family game night, or afternoon brain break.
- Start with a few practice rounds so everyone understands how moving a single cube shifts an entire row or column. The rules are simple, but the strategy takes a game or two to appreciate.
- Play head-to-head with two players or divide into teams for a different challenge. As players gain experience, they'll begin thinking further ahead, spotting patterns, and anticipating their opponents' moves.
- Don't be surprised if one game turns into several. Quixo's constantly changing board means every round feels different, and rematches are almost inevitable.
- Consider leaving the game where it's easy to see and access. Games that stay visible tend to get played more often, and Quixo rewards repeated play as strategic thinking skills continue to grow.

Simple rules, but lots of strategy

This game had simple rules, but lots of strategy. I loved how the pieces were large and harder to lose. The best way I can describe the game is its the blend of the Labyrinth board game and tic tac toe. The way you win is you have to connect five in a row (like in the game connect four). Love playing it with my son!

the best game

This game came with our kit but I opted out of it and then later bought it on amazon. I wish I just bought it with the kit because my kids, from 5-10, have been playing this everyday for two weeks straight. It is such a great game, my husband and I even played this with each other and used multiple strategies to win. We like that it's not the typical tic tac toe game.
