When life on the farm turns into a barnyard scramble, it's up to your child to bring order to the chaos. Smart Farmer challenges players to separate cows, pigs, sheep, and horses into their own fenced pastures using just three fence pieces and a bit of careful planning.
The goal sounds simple, but every animal must end up in the correct field, and each enclosed pasture needs its own water trough. With limited fencing and a crowded farmyard, finding the right arrangement quickly becomes a satisfying test of logic and spatial reasoning.
The 60 challenges progress from beginner-friendly introductions to increasingly complex puzzles that require observation, concentration, and flexible thinking. As players experiment with different fence placements, they build problem-solving skills while discovering that small changes can completely transform the solution.

How to Use Smart Farmer
- Choose a challenge and place the animals and any water troughs exactly as shown. Easier puzzles provide more starting clues, while later challenges reveal less information and require more deduction.
- Using up to three fence pieces, divide the farm into separate meadows. Each type of animal must have its own pasture. In the more advanced challenges, each enclosed meadow must also contain a water trough.
- Experiment with different fence placements as you work. A small change can completely alter the layout, so don't be afraid to rethink your approach if a solution isn't coming together.
- Start with the beginner challenges to learn how the fences interact, then gradually work your way toward the more difficult puzzles. The challenges become increasingly complex as logical thinking, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving skills are developed.
- Completing one or two challenges each week provides a steady stream of logic practice throughout the school year.
- With 60 challenges and only one correct solution for each, Smart Farmer offers plenty of opportunities to think, test, adjust, and try again until every animal has a pasture of its own.

I purchased this game for a 6 year old. He enjoys it, but does not beg to play with it. Once he figured out the general idea he hasn't asked for it as much. His three-year-old brother likes to play "farming" with it. The pieces have a pleasing tactile rubberized feel to them. It is probably best for the 4-5 year old range. One thing I would caution: the water troughs are a little on the small side, so they could present a choking hazard. I attached a picture. It is enjoyable, but not what I would call a, "must have."

This was the SmartGame we did with my son in first or second grade. For that age group it was a real challenge to think through how to put things together so the animals were separate from each other. I really like how the games get progressively harder over time to grow the problem solving skills.

We enjoy these brain building learning games. This one is definitely on the top of our list as the solutions seem like a practical challenge for my farming loving kid. Some of them are quite tricky but having an answer key helps you to support them in trying again and again.

Great for young learners!

My 2, 4, and 6 year old all enjoy playing this game in varying ways. My 2 year old loves rearranging the pieces on the board to make her own ‘farm.’ My 4 and 6 year olds like the challenges and like trying to figure them out. This game has been played quite a bit in our house. It has been a hit this year!
