We use this daily as part of our morning calendar activity for first grade. The student writes their name, day, month, and year. Then, the daily poem is read aloud. Afterwards, the student draws a picture and writes a short sentence about the poem. It’s been a great way to start each day!

Beautiful Book of Poetry

Poetry was one of those things I was never really interested in myself, but I know that exposure to the language and form of poetry is very beneficial to children in particular.
