Cats & Boxes combines two things cats seem to love—hiding and cardboard boxes—into a surprisingly tricky logic puzzle. Designed for ages 7 and up, this solo game challenges players to help every cat find a box by sliding and arranging puzzle pieces on the game board.
Each of the 60 challenges begins with cats and box pieces placed in specific positions. The goal is simple: every cat must end up inside a box. The solution, however, is anything but obvious. With only four movable box pieces covering five cats, players must carefully plan each move and think through multiple possibilities before everything falls into place.
As challenges increase in difficulty, players strengthen logic, spatial reasoning, planning, concentration, and problem-solving skills. Early puzzles provide extra guidance, while later challenges require increasingly careful observation and deduction.

We love Smart Games and this game is no exception. As with all Smart Games, the pieces are absolutely adorable. The problems begin with reasonably simple to solve up to ones that were even a challenge for adults, so this is a great game to have on hand for the family.

My daughter loves games like this one, and it was an extra hit because she also loves cats (we are dog people). Games like these are great because sometimes our brains get stuck and we can teach kids to take a break, come back, and then they figure it out and it teaches resilience and patience.

My 6 year old loes this game. It is right on her level when she ACTUALLY plays by the rules. Most of the time she is in her own little world playing adventures with the cats and boxes. Raally good quality and even fun for me!
