Extreme Dot to Dot: National Parks is a challenging dot-to-dot puzzle book featuring 32 detailed scenes inspired by U.S. national parks, from the volcanic landscape of Haleakalā National Park to black bears in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

These aren't the dot-to-dots your child finished in kindergarten. Each puzzle contains anywhere from 400 to more than 1,400 numbered dots, with some designs stretching across two full pages. Following those numbers takes time, concentration, and persistence as an intricate landscape or animal slowly emerges from what initially looks like a bewildering collection of dots.

And there’s more waiting at the finish line. Your child can check his completed picture against the key in the back, where he'll also find the name of the featured national park and interesting facts about the scene.

Working through hundreds—or more than a thousand—dots gives sequencing, visual tracking, attention to detail, and concentration a serious workout. There's also something remarkably satisfying about watching a complicated image emerge one tiny line at a time.
