The puzzles are challenging for my 4.5 year old. He loves doing them and asking about different places in the world.
We were really looking forward to these puzzles, they were advertised as kindergarten level. No. Even with ya doing them together my kid is not interested in them at ALL. She usually loves puzzles. We will pack it away and bring it out in a few years. Yes, years.
Challenging but manageable for my k5 girl. She's a puzzle fiend and most puzzles for her age range are too easy and she's done super quick. This takes her time and concentration.
I ordered these early, so my daughter isn't ready to do them on her own, but she enjoys doing them together. They are great quality and detailed. The outer pieces are larger and interlock like regular puzzle pieces, but the tiny pieces for each state or country are incredibly small and difficult to stay together. This didn't surprise me as I had a US puzzle years ago that was the same--you learn about the states by their individual sizes, and thus they aren't don't have typical puzzle pieces. I am confident these puzzles will be a part of our homeschool all through elementary school, but beware that there are a lot of tiny pieces and they need to be carefully stored individually to avoid a mess!
My 7 year old enjoys doing these puzzles and they help him to learn geography without feeling like a chore. I have him do the same puzzle once a week for months, and I time him each time so he can see his improvement!
