The lab kit contains 20+ of the items you may not, or likely would not, have around the house. You will still need to gather a few things from around the house, like a few standard office supplies, some kitchen items, balls, etc. You may also have to buy food items if you do not already have them in your pantry. However, for the things you would have to pick up at the craft store, hobby store, and/or superstore, this handy kit has virtually all of them in just the quantities you'll need to complete your experiments. The minimal optional items you won't find in your home are not included, so you'll need to pick those up if you choose to do those experiments.
