Lab Kit for Science in the Industrial Age
As the experiments become more advanced, so do the supplies. The Berean Builders Science in the Industrial Age Lab Kit brings together more than 40 of the specialty materials needed for the first edition of Science in the Industrial Age, saving you from tracking down dozens of individual items before each lab.
The kit includes a wide variety of experiment materials, from chemicals and magnets to measuring tools and other science equipment. (See the Details tab for the complete list.) You'll still provide common household supplies and a few grocery items—such as red cabbage, vinegar, rubbing alcohol, aluminum foil, and meat tenderizer—but the more specialized materials are already organized and ready to use.
With supplies close at hand, your child can focus on exploring medicine, human physiology, cell biology, chemistry, geology, electricity, magnetism, heat, light, sound, radioactivity, conservation laws, and other scientific concepts through meaningful, hands-on investigations that reinforce the curriculum's lessons.
Designed for use with the first edition of Science in the Industrial Age, this parent-led lab kit removes much of the preparation so you can spend less time gathering supplies and more time experimenting together. It is not intended for children under 12 to use independently.
How to Use Lab Kit for Science in the Industrial Age
- Keep the lab kit nearby as you work through Science in the Industrial Age. When an experiment calls for a specialty item, simply gather the needed pieces from the kit along with any common household supplies or fresh grocery items listed in the lesson.
- Read through each experiment before you begin, so everything is within reach. Having the materials ready ahead of time keeps the focus on observing, asking questions, and enjoying the investigation instead of searching for supplies.
- After each lab, return the reusable pieces to the kit so they'll be easy to find for the next experiment. A few minutes of organization now will save time throughout the year.

Convenient to Have

This kit has come in very handy for my son, who is in 5th grade. He's working through "Science in the Industrial Age," and he loves doing the experiments. With a new baby, it's difficult for me to get to the store frequently to gather the supplies needed, so this kit has been very helpful most of the time. There are a couple of times that we didn't find what we were looking for in the kit, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. They were non-perishables that I think could've been included in the kit, but for the most part, the kit has had what we need to go through the book. I'm grateful for it.
