2026 Tenth-Grade Curriculum Kit
Algebra 2 builds on the concepts introduced in Algebra 1 and prepares students for higher-level mathematics through increasingly sophisticated problem-solving and mathematical reasoning.
In this course, students work with polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic expressions and equations while developing a deeper understanding of algebraic relationships. Topics include quadratic equations, complex numbers, systems of equations, matrices, vectors, sequences, and functions.
Students also explore conic sections, including circles, parabolas, ellipses, and hyperbolas, while learning to analyze and graph increasingly complex mathematical relationships. Throughout the course, algebraic concepts are applied to real-world situations involving distance, rate, time, ratios, and other practical problem-solving scenarios.
Like all Math-U-See levels, Algebra 2 follows a mastery-based approach, introducing concepts incrementally and emphasizing understanding before moving on. Clear video instructions, worked examples, and systematic practice help students build confidence as they tackle advanced mathematical concepts.
Instructional videos and teacher resources are accessed through Math-U-See's Essential Plan. Each subscription includes 2 course credits, supports up to 5 student seats, and provides access to activated levels for one year.
Designed for students who have completed Algebra 1 and Geometry, Math-U-See Algebra 2 provides a strong foundation for Pre-Calculus, Calculus, college mathematics, and other advanced STEM studies.
(Need help picking a level? We’ve got placement tests ready for you.)

Math-U-See has transitioned from lifetime access to a one-year subscription for its digital resources, including instructional videos and the online teacher manual.
This new subscription provides digital access for two levels and up to five students. Depending on your family’s needs, this may offer more flexibility than the previous level-by-level lifetime access model.
One of the strengths of this plan is its flexibility. Your students are not locked into a single level. If a student finishes a level early or needs to go back and review an earlier one, you can swap a course credit to a different level right from your dashboard, up to once every 30 days. Because the plan includes two credits, a family with two students in different levels can often cover both with one subscription. When a student is ready to move up, you simply purchase the physical materials for the next level and swap the credit. As long as your subscription is active, there is no new subscription to buy to keep going.
For more information, view our 1-Year Essential Plan Subscription Access page.

The Math U See Curriculum is good, but I feel that the higher Math subjects such as Algebra 2 are not explained in enough depth on the video. He goes too fast sometimes and does not cover everything that is on the students work lessons. We had to look up a lot of things this year in order to get a clearer picture of what was expected for the problems.

Great program
Steph H.
Math-U-See is an excellent program and Algebra 2 doesn't disappoint (I wish I could have learned algebra this way!). Honestly though, we have had to slow way down as our family move meant homeschooling this year as opposed to a brick-and-mortar school. My son's math program there was quite different, so it has been a huge adjustment to make up for going from one system of learning math to another. Not a reflection on MUS, just a general observation. But it is a great way to learn these concepts! The videos and instructions explain the process well.

We love math
Dan A.
Math u see makes math even more enjoyable. The books are great at explaining new concepts and there are lots of practice pages to master those concepts.

Great if you have the manipulatives
Michelle J.
I think that would have worked out better for my son if he had the manipulatives to go along with the curriculum. He got to a point where we couldn’t move past a chapter because he didn’t understand the subject without the corresponding manipulatives. He is now doing ThinkWell and seems to understand it much better.

No other math program will do.
Kathleen W.
We have used Math-U-See to teach our 9 kids (age 8-30) for over 20 years. After tinkering with all the popular and “best” math programs we were introduced to this and nothing is simpler or better for my gifted and my special needs children. I have known people who didn’t like it because it taught so different from public school texts and they were worried their kids wouldn’t be able to manage in traditional classrooms. However, all my college kids (one a math major and one a physics major) not only “managed” but tested out of mandatory entry level classes and were approved to skip other “non negotiable” mandatory math classes when they entered college to start at calculus level classes their first year. I love the ease of preparation, the simplicity of the pages (not over stimulating for special needs) and the fact that everything is taught with reason and purpose.

We like this curriculum but my son still struggles some. Yet we still like it.

We love Math You See
Monica B.
We have been using math you see for years. We love the mastery approach and the ease of watching the dvd lessons and following along in the book. Great layout and we can move on once a concept is mastered instead of doing extra busy work.

Love this Math
Rebecca O.
As a teacher, I have taught many different math curriculums. This is by far the best I have seen. Even my kids love doing math now.

The Best
Kisha R.
Steve Demme is a pro at taking complicated subjects and simplifying them. Algebra 2 can be a chore to get through but he makes it bearable.

The only math curriculum for our family
September L.
My husband and I were both good at math growing up. He became an engineer, and I am an accountant. Our public school math education was based on memorizing formulas, and so when we began homeschooling, we went with a standard rote math curriculum. However, we soon found out that the memorization method does not work for every student, nor is it even the best method for students naturally adept at math. What we were missing was an understanding of why we used the formulas we had memorized in our public school math classes. With Math-U-See's combination of explanatory videos and use of manipulatives, any student can gain mastery in math regardless of their learning style. Have you ever seen the factoring of polynomials explained with blocks before? In MUS you will, and it will be the lightbulb moment that helps you truly understand the written processes you must take to solve the problem. Steve Demme is a wonderful teacher, and we are so glad we found MUS with our first child. We have since used this curriculum for each of our nine children with great success.
