The Nomadic Professor: World History 1 & 2
The Nomadic Professor: World History 1 & 2 is a multimedia high school course that traces world history from 2000 BC to the present through video, text, and primary source analysis.
Students move across 16 regions, studying major civilizations, cultural developments, and global connections over time. The course uses on-location video filmed in historical settings alongside narrated readings and document-based lessons, giving students multiple ways to work through the material.
The emphasis is on comparison and context. Students evaluate sources, consider differing perspectives, and track how ideas and events develop across regions rather than within a single national narrative.
Each volume includes 10 units, with sessions that combine video lectures, reading, guided notes, and source analysis. The structure keeps the material moving while returning to key themes across different parts of the world.
Three track options—Basic, Standard, and Advanced—allow you to adjust the level of depth and writing required. Standard and Advanced tracks include additional humanities work, with writing assignments supported by rubrics and examples.
Course materials are available in multiple formats, including video, text, and audio, so students can work through the content in different ways depending on the setting.
Students have 10 months of access and work at their own pace within that window.
Together, World History 1 & 2 can be counted as:
Students build a portfolio as they go, documenting written work and completed assignments. The included Instructor’s Guide provides guidance on organizing that work for transcript credit.
This course asks students to move between regions, perspectives, and time periods, building a broader understanding of how historical developments connect across the world.
Note: Some historical artwork included in the course may contain partial nudity.
