What we love about the update is that it removes the pressure of experiments and lab notebooks while retaining rigorous scientific instruction. Plus, the redesigned books are a visual step up, too.

I really like this curriculum it encompasses the main areas for science and is a great introductory tool for little ones. That said I was very disappointed that we only received the text book and the student notebook and all experiments were pdf. For the price of this product I’m disappointed I have to spend more money and time to print and possible pay to bind these out on my own to utilize them.

Great science curriculum

This is a great curriculum. My son loves science, but he gets bored easily with most science curricula. This is a great textbook that is colorful and explains the information well. He isn't bored with this one and looks forward to it every day. There are printable teacher pages, a student notebook, 2 midterm quizzes, 1 final quiz, and an answer keys. The quizzes and final are 20 questions each and aren't hard. The student notebook is fun and interactive. There are fill-in-the-blanks that have some of the letters for help, cut and paste, and different activities. They also have free experiment pages on their website that you can add in. The teacher resources help you plan a weekly schedule for the whole level that has a connection section to show how science is connected to everything(math, art, technology, and other subjects). It's easy to adjust it to what you need. You can move quickly or do a little each day. I highly recommend this.

Real Science-4-Kids Book 1 is well-written and engaging, making science interesting for kids. The lessons are clear, but some parts were a bit challenging for my child without extra help. Overall, it’s a solid choice for introducing science and hands-on learning. Would recommend!
