    Best Science Found

    Tasha G.

We have tried out many science curriculums, both secular and religious and this is hands down my favorite! I love the way the book is written to be easily understood and how you can use it for multiple age groups at the same time. They give you notes on the experiments to make them easy to follow and even help with the timeline of longer experiments so you are prepared. My kids are learning so much and have really grown to love science through this and his earlier books!

Very detailed and interesting... but difficult to teach

    Elizabeth D.

It could just be me, I'm not a very scientific thinker, but I did not feel confident teaching this when we began in September. It has since sat on our shelf staring malevolently at me. I may try again, maybe we will have better luck with all the optimism that spring brings!

    Fun Science

    Heather E.

This is our third year using this series of science books, and this one is as good as all the others. My kids always enjoy doing the experiments, and although the explanations can be a bit lengthy, it is easy to shorten them. The materials needed for the experiments are mostly things easily found around the house, but I really recommend ordering a lab kit anyway, because it saves a lot of time and energy.

    Good Science

    Hannah b.

I like that Science in the Scientific Revolution lessons are only three pages long. I like that there is an activity with each lesson, even though we sometimes skip them if we don't have the equipment or time. I also like that it is multi-level so I can teach multiple students at once. All in all Berean Science is a very good program. Dr. J. L. Wyle is a great teacher.

    Easy to use!

    Samantha

This science curriculum is easy to use and pretty much open and go. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend buying the science experiment kit with it. We did not buy the kit and there were some experiments that we weren't able to do because I didn't have the items on hand. I like that every lesson has an experiment, but if we aren't able to get the experiment done, the chapter has a good recap. The chapters are short and easy to read.

    Good science

We like the science, but it’s a bit hard to keep my daughters attention to retain the information. I think it’s a bit higher level for 3rd grader

    Science in the Scientific Revolution

    Kay B.

We enjoy that the Berean Science set places scientific discoveries in a timeline so that our children can get a full picture. The experiments are easy but comprehensive, and it covers a great deal of information. Your kids will learn to take notes, if they haven't already. Still we find these curriculums great fun and love science in our house!

    Science in the Scientific Revolution

    Kortnie P.

We really like this book it has a lot of really good information. We really enjoy all we learn with this book and I would highly recommend it. The only downfall is how much reading there is. There is was to much reading for MTV 3rd grader to do on her own so I end up doing a lot of the reading to her and it is just a lot while trying to homeschooled my other child as well

    Fascinating but over the top

    Heidi S.

It kills me to not give this book a high score... it is a beautifully written, gorgeously illustrated, fascinating textbook. The student workbook is also easy to use. I understand that the basic premise of this multi volume set, organized chronologically, is that it can be used for students between first and sixth grade, and different aged children are held to different standards of understanding. We have completed the first fifteen lessons, having done many of the experiments. This is also our first year homeschooling. BUT - the scope of this book, at least for our extremely bright third grader - is just a bit ridiculous. Knowledge of retrograde motion, parallax, hyaline cartilage, and bile ducts at this age? It got a little overwhelming and we found we needed to supplement with library books and videos, or just to paraphrase the materials ourselves. Again, it’s a great resource, one we will keep for future use, but it’s kind of nuts for an 8-year old. We decided to throw the towel in on this one and are searching for a different science curriculum. For an older student it would still be a solid option, but it’s not for us.

    Great program

    Jessica

I love these books. When I started homeschooling I was nervous. Got the first book and it eased my mind. I really enjoy teaching with this program and my son likes all the experiments we are doing. This works for a visual learning and review at the end of a lesson is great.
