Families can successfully begin with whatever time period most interests them. Some families prefer starting with ancient times and unraveling the story sequentially until modern times. Yet because the full scope of history is taught repeatedly up through high school, it is okay to skip volumes, knowing that the same events will be covered later.

    Great Test

    Kristen F.

I like how the tests aren’t to long and cover the basics for testing by having a fill-in-the-blank section, multiple choice section, and true or false section. The fill-in-the-blank section is probably the hardest for my daughter to do because she has a hard time remembering names or how to spell them. The good news is that it is only five questions and there is an answer key in the back I can use to help her with that section.

    Tests

These tests are a great way to ensure that the material that has been studied is getting absorbed. The Tests within each book level increase in complexity. Which is a great way to challenge your kids. I recommend these test books to go along with the text book and the activity book.

Test Material for The Story of the World Volume 2

    Brook B.

The review questions were great in the activity book but we were feeling like we were missing a "worksheet" for her to have after we read a chapter to test her comprehension of the material. Our daughter is a worksheet girl. This is exactly what we were needing, wish it was part of the activity book however!

    Love this

We love this book and my son does to! We usually spend a few days reading the chapter then we spend the next couple days going over the review questions and most them time he remembers what we have read! This Is a great product and I will be buying book 2!

    Good for older kids

    Leslie

This is the second year we are using the Story of the World for our history. We're using it with our first and third graders. My third grader is able to answer most of the questions, but the tests are much too detailed for my first grader. I would suggest them to be used for third grade and up. The questions are quite detailed and we mostly use them to review the information. We generally do about four days of reading and do the correlating test on the fifth day.

    Makes Grading Easy

    Virginia M.

These tests are a wonderful way to give an objective grade for a high-school transcript. I am currently taking a high-schooler through an accelerated tour of world history via Story of the World. She is in volume 2, and after reading, studying questions from the Activity Guide, and placing events on a timeline, she takes the chapter's test. We haven't' done much testing before, so this is a perfect way to help my daughter learn test-taking skills.
