All About Letter Tiles for Reading and Spelling
If you've tried one of our All About Reading Standard Sets or All About Spelling Standard Sets, and have found that you need something more tactile than the app, or if you are finding that your child would benefit from a bit more hands-on practice off of the tablet, maybe you're looking for the Letter Tiles Set.
The sturdy letter tiles and heading labels are made of heavy laminated cardstock, and wipe clean easily. They are sized just right for children's hands at 1", making them easy to move and manipulate, and they are built to last. They glide smoothly on the table, or you could do what many families choose to do, and add a magnet backing (you can buy the perfect ones here - just click "Magnets" and add to cart, or find them elsewhere) and use them on a whiteboard (sold separately).
All About Learning Magnets
All About Learning Magnets are the perfect companion for Letter Tiles by All About Learning. Families who choose to use the physical Letter Tiles rather than the app for All About Reading or All About Spelling will find that the Magnets are a welcome aid when using the tiles on a magnetic whiteboard or other surfaces. These Magnets fit neatly on the backs of the Letter Tiles, and they are just the right strength to keep Letter Tiles from slipping, while not being so strong that the tiles become difficult to slide into place. Make your Letter Tiles easier to store and manage with the convenient All About Learning Magnets.
This set includes enough magnets for the letter tiles, letter tile labels, and syllable tags, as well as for the prefix and suffix tiles that are added in upper levels.
About All About Reading
All About Reading (AAR) is the multisensory, mastery-based program that you’ve been hearing so much about. Suitable for all ages and learning styles, AAR teaches phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension in a fun and engaging way. Moving at a gentler pace than other more intense reading programs, with AAR only one new concept is taught at a time. Their precept-upon-precept program works with all kids and AAR’s built-in review system helps learning to stick. The progressive introduction of letters introduces vowels with consonants in a way that will allow your child to begin reading almost immediately.
And you will be thrilled to know that no prior training is needed; AAR has lightly-scripted and illustrated “open and go” lessons that makes your job easy and stress free. Based on the Orton-Gillingham Approach, 97% of English words can be learned according to phonetic rules, leaving only 3% to be learned as sight words. The student activity books add a lot of variety to the lessons and provide additional support. The phonetic readers are the best we have ever seen – beautifully illustrated hardcover books with finely detailed black-and-white drawings. The complete AAR program consists of five levels from PreK through third grade.
About All About Spelling
You know that kids learn in a variety of ways. That is why a multisensory approach, like All About Spelling (AAS), is so successful. But children also differ in their motivational approach to learning. You may have an inquisitive child who really wants to understand the ins and outs of spelling, while his sibling just doesn’t care. If you have a child who thrives on spelling rules and who is most comfortable understanding the reasoning behind each word’s spelling he will adore AAS, because in each spelling lesson a single new rule or concept is taught. The award-winning AAS provides complete and comprehensive instruction using the multisensory Orton-Gillingham explicit teaching approach.
Please note: Families who purchased a Deluxe Reading or Deluxe Spelling kit will not need to add the Magnets, as the Deluxe sets include these Magnets.
The phonogram tiles are color-coded for faster learning:
The five heading labels help you group your tiles on the table while you are teaching. Logically grouping the tiles makes them easy to locate during a spelling lesson and aids visual memory.
Each set contains 108 tiles—two each of letters a to z, one each of the remaining letter combinations, and six blank tiles.

We like using these rather than the digital ones on the tablet. It is nice to put the screens down and just learn together with this hands on addition to our reading and spelling lesson. My kids think its fun to play around with these tiles as well even when were not in class.
I bought the deluxe set for all about reading which includes a tote bag, these tiles, and the box for your word cards. I am beyond disappointed with the value of the tiles and the cards (that’s a different review). These tiles cost $18 and you have to assemble them yourself. We get free magnets from the charities we donate to, they are expensive to print. Print these on magnets and be done with the time consuming assembly. Mine also did not include the full alphabet. I don’t even know if I can return this as it was part of a set, but I’m going to try. I’ll include pictures of the entirety of the magnets before assembly.
These take a little time to set up, but afterwards they are so easy to yuse and are very helpful in teaching my 5 year old how to construct a word!
