Continuing the Gospel Story
Using the same profound ten-minutes-a-day method, Old Story New continues the gospel-centered story that started in Long Story Short. Through 78 New Testament stories, Old Story New does the heavy lifting for parents as it lays out activities and provides answers to the discussion questions. Old Story New explains God's plan of salvation through the New Testament and is perfect for children from preschool through high school.

"Marty Machowski has done it again! This book, along with the earlier Old Testament devotional book, Long Story Short, is another masterful devotional book for families. It is simple without being shallow. It is theologically robust without being pedantic. It is comprehensive without being overwhelming. Best of all, it is doable for busy parents with children."
-Dr. Tedd Tripp, Pastor; conference speaker; best-selling author of Shepherding a Child's Heart
"Marty Machowski 'gets' families. Even more importantly, he knows how to connect them to the Bible with simple, relatable New Testament studies that make much of Jesus in every lesson. If you want your kids to see the Savior through his Word, spend some time in this exciting new devotional."
-Dave Harvey, Church Planting and Church Care, Sovereign Grace Ministries; author of When Sinners Say I Do: Discovering the Power of the Gospel for Marriage
"The church wants parents to lead their homes spiritually; the parents don't know how. Marty Machowski's Old Story New is the answer for both church and parents. Marty has invested his time in the best way possible helping parents shepherd their children with more than stories and morals, but with the central theme of Jesus illuminated clearly in every story."

Our girls are so excited about these little morning devos. They’re great for our preschooler all the way up to our senior. It’s the best 5-10 mins to start our day.
Great devotional resource. Would recommend to anyone for a family devotional. Would work well even with children in different age brackets. The pages on ours are not cut smoothly, but it doesn't bother me.
I have been using this book as our devotionals in the morning during or after breakfast. Sure, we don't read it every day like I would prefer... but we do cover it most days. It really only takes 10 minutes and is easy to follow. So it is easier to make it a habit. Not that we need to fit God's Word into our days. But it is important for me to have something simple like this to remain consistent in God's Word with the kids. Lots of lessons in this book. It'll take over a year to complete, even while doing it every days.
I am using this devotional as a guide for my junior church curriculum. I really like the object lessons and how it relates each lesson back to Jesus. I plan to divide each week into two lessons.I'm anxious to get started.
I was wanting a family devotional that could be used with preschool age children. Old Story New is just what I was looking for. It was designed for everyone, with tips on how to adapt the material for all ages. There are 78 weeks of devotionals, all covering the New Testament. Each day includes a scripture reading, a paragraph providing context for the reading, questions over the material (with answers provided), and a prayer. This devotional book is simple to use, and allows me to really share the gospel story with my children.
