Move over, fetch—this corgi has bigger plans. Smart Dog turns a simple obstacle course into a surprisingly tricky logic challenge where your child must help an eager pup reach his destination.
Using tunnels, bridges, hoops, and other obstacles, players create pathways through 60 increasingly difficult challenges. The catch? The corgi only travels in straight lines until something redirects him. A well-placed obstacle can send him exactly where he needs to go. A poorly placed one can leave him running in circles.
As challenges progress from beginner to expert, players strengthen logical thinking, spatial reasoning, planning, visual perception, and problem-solving skills. Early puzzles introduce the mechanics, while later ones require careful observation and a good deal of strategic thinking.
The bright components, compact game board, and satisfying "aha!" moments make Smart Dog an easy choice for independent play, quiet-time activities, travel, or quick brain breaks between lessons.

How to Use Smart Dog
- Choose a challenge and set up the corgi, trainer, and any pre-placed obstacles exactly as shown.
- Using the remaining pieces, build a path that guides the corgi to the trainer. Remember that the corgi travels in straight lines until an obstacle redirects him, so every placement matters.
- As you work, pay attention to how each obstacle affects the route. Some pieces turn the corgi, others keep him moving straight, and a few introduce additional twists that make later challenges more difficult.
- Start with the beginner challenges to learn how the obstacles interact, then work your way toward the more advanced puzzles. The difficulty increases gradually, giving players plenty of opportunities to build confidence before tackling the trickier setups.
- If a solution isn't working, try tracing the route backward from the trainer or reconsidering where a key obstacle belongs. Often, one small adjustment changes the entire course.
- Complete one or two challenges each week, though enthusiastic puzzlers may happily solve several in a single sitting.
- With 60 challenges ranging from beginner to expert, Smart Dog provides a fun, screen-free way to strengthen logic, planning, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving skills—one determined corgi at a time.

Each year we look forward to the logic puzzles that are included in our Timberdoodle kit. We have found that if we front load them in the online scheduler it helps with the increasing difficulty as the year progresses. I see my student developing tenacity as she tries and tries again to figure out the puzzles. We have used timers to work on it a bit throughout the week because sometimes sleeping on it is the best way for her to solve the puzzle quickly. It's amazing how much faster she will see a solution the next day after resting overnight. Thanks for including a fun challenge for kids, Timberdoodle.

The logic puzzles included in Timberdoodle kits continue to be a HUGE win for us. This year I allowed my student to pick 1 of the 2 given options. That helped her to not be overwhelmed as the puzzles get harder throughout the year. I also scheduled it to front load the lessons with the online scheduler—cannot recommend that enough. It’s been a joy to not have to do more than 1 challenge per school week at the end of the school year when the puzzles are the trickiest.

My 3rd grader is doing this Smart Dog Game and he LOVES it! We have a corgi just like in the game which made us love it even more. My son really has to think spatially and logically to solve the challenges. Since he is high functioning autistic, many levels he completes very quickly, but sometimes he gets stumped and cannot see the answer right away which grows patience and stamina in him in a setting where he is having fun. We love smart games and all of them from Timberdoodle have been enjoyed.
