For many young learners, spelling lists and weekly tests create more frustration than learning. Spelling You See Level A: Listen and Write takes a gentler approach, helping your child build strong connections between sounds, letters, and written words through short daily lessons.

Great Spelling Book

We really enjoyed this spelling book. It gave progressive practice with spelling and seemed to align with the phonics and words learned with All About Reading Level 1. My daughter was able to complete each page in about 3 minutes. The stickers are also a nice touch.

Simple and straightforward

There’s boxes for each letter so the student knows what to expect. For a while in the curriculum the box where the vowel is supposed to be is a different color so that helps the student thru the process of spelling the word. I love the stickers that come with and the extra ideas and prompts to do with them.

Effective Spelling Curriculum

We loved that spelling never could take more than 10 minutes according to the directions. :) We loved the decoding style and repetition. I found that the open boxes without a middle dotted line made it difficult for her to have beautiful penmanship but the guide said that was not the goal. We found that we had to take a tiny break when she was only reading a certain number of letter words but the spelling had progressed faster to another number of letters. Can’t wait to use this curriculum again.

All of level A is spelling words. It goes from 3 letter words to 4 letter words to 4 letter words with special sounds (ch, sh, th).

Easy to incorporate; good progress

Spelling You See makes it easy to introduce and practice spelling to kindergartners who have zero previous experience. Just doing a single page a day, about 10 minutes time, has shown to be making an impact on my son and I can see the results from the beginning of the school year until now. We are happy with this one!

Perfect Introduction to Spelling

We are several weeks into utilizing Spelling You See A for our Kindergartener, and it has been the perfect introduction to spelling for us! The reinforcement of letter writing while introducing spelling is a nice blend. The stickers have been added since we have used this previously, and those are definitely a hit!

Need the instructor book

This book is hard without the instructor book as a companion. I struggled a lot as a parent to make it work without, but with the instructor book everything makes so much more sense. We love the stickers as a reward for completing pages!

much better than traditional spelling

This level is the "listen and write." Once the child has mastered identifying letters and their sounds, this program would work well for him or her. My daughter thrives with this program!
