To begin, thy teen selects one of eighty battles, each more cunning than the last. The red knights (scoundrels, everyone), the noble blue knights, and their towers are placed according to the chosen challenge. Once positioned, they remain fixed throughout the puzzle.
Then comes the true test: the laying of walls. These must fit precisely into the grooves of the board, forming strongholds to protect the blue knights and towers while leaving the red marauders outside.
A blue knight or tower is considered protected only when completely enclosed by walls, whether standing alone or alongside fellow defenders. The shape and size of the fortress matter not. Red knights, however, must never be fully surrounded. They may linger near the walls, but there must always remain a path by which they might continue their mischief.
As the challenges grow more difficult, careful planning and clever wall placement become increasingly important. One misplaced section may leave a blue knight exposed or accidentally trap a red knight inside the fortress.
Only one arrangement leads to victory. The correct solution for each battle rests in the back of the challenge booklet for those who wish to test their strategy before consulting the wisdom of the ancients.

Fun Strategy game
Karie
This is very similar to the other strategy games with a castle/medieval theme. As with the other games on this line, the pieces are durable and well made. Multiple options for challenges allows for a wider age range appeal.

A challenging game for my 7 year old but not one he returns to again and again. It was fun while it was new.

Challenging and fun
Melissa
I wasn’t sure if this would be too difficult for my kids, but my 6 year old son loves it and actually does pretty well with it. I think it’s a good transition for us from some of the easier smart games (my son pretty has much mastered Smart Farmer) and he will have lots of room to grow with this one. Love that he reaches for it so often even though it is definitely more challenging.

We have a lot of the Smart Games, and have always used them to mix up the school day with some hands on learning. This is great early training for later logic skills. This one fits in perfectly with our Medieval studies, so my daughter had a lot of fun with it! Good challenges.

We love the smart games. This one is definitely challenging. My 9-12 year old boys really enjoy this game but we have not made it past the first few levels yet. It is one of their favorite strategy games.

So much fun!

These smart games are so much for and challenging. This one is a more advanced version of the barnyard game. It will really make you think. It can entertain anyone from 7-98! My whole family loves this!
