What's in the Ninth-Grade Kit
High school starts here. Geometry, biology, and literature analysis all come together in one year, with a kit designed to support the increased workload in a manageable way.History covers early modern history in the classic kits and American history in the nonreligious kits, with a study of the U.S. Constitution included as a supplement for both. STEM includes electronics, web design, and hands-on building projects. Personal finance returns with a high school focus, and the Timberdoodle High School Planner helps you begin tracking credits and transcripts from the start.
Classic and nonreligious kits differ in history and science. Compare tiers below to see what’s included, and use the customizer to swap anything that isn’t the right fit.

We asked the families who used our 9th grade kit how long their students spent on "school." Most of the families worked on academics 4 or 5 days a week and spent 3-5 hours a day specifically on Timberdoodle materials. It is common for families to spend more or less time than that, so don't stress if your schedule doesn't exactly match up. And, of course, the time you spend will be greatly impacted by how in-depth your student takes their studies, their learning approach, how distractible they allow themselves to be, and much more.
