First Language Lessons Level 4 is where grammar starts feeling less like a subject and more like a real-life skill. Instead of simply identifying nouns and circling verbs, your student begins building stronger sentences, sharpening writing skills, and developing the confidence to communicate clearly.

Designed primarily for grades 4–5, this year-long program meets two to three times each week and combines grammar instruction with narration, copywork, dictation, memory work, sentence diagramming, and written practice.

Unlike earlier levels, Level 4 increases the depth and complexity of grammar instruction while continuing to revisit concepts through spiral review, so skills stay fresh rather than disappearing three lessons later.
