First Language Lessons Level 2 builds on the foundation established in Level 1 by adding new grammar concepts, introducing dictation, and expanding students’ language skills through short, scripted lessons designed for early elementary students.

Written by Jessie Wise of Well-Trained Mind Press, this year-long program uses fully scripted instruction to guide parents through lessons covering grammar, narration, copywork, dictation, picture study, and language development.

Because there is no separate student workbook, students complete activities on lined paper while the teacher guide provides everything needed for instruction—keeping preparation simple and lessons easy to implement.

Students build language skills through:
