All About Spelling Level 2

Many spelling mistakes disappear once a child understands the patterns behind them. All About Spelling Level 2 builds on the foundation established in Level 1, helping your child apply spelling rules to longer words, more complex patterns, and some of the most common challenges in English spelling.

Using the same multisensory, Orton-Gillingham-based approach, Level 2 introduces 11 new phonograms, including WH, AR, and OU. Your child learns how vowel-consonant-e patterns work, when C and G use their soft sounds, how r-controlled vowels affect pronunciation, and how syllable patterns help unlock longer words.

Rather than memorizing lists, your child continues building words with letter tiles, practicing through dictation, and applying new concepts immediately. As lessons progress, he learns to divide words into syllables, tackle compound words, and confidently spell words that follow common spelling rules and patterns.

Each lesson introduces a single new concept while providing plenty of built-in review. The full-color Activity Book includes more than 200 pages of reinforcement activities, word banks, posters, games, and progress-tracking tools that help strengthen retention while keeping lessons engaging.

The Teacher's Manual provides lightly scripted instruction, teaching tips, and step-by-step guidance, making daily lessons straightforward to teach. Most families complete lessons in about 15–20 minutes, allowing steady progress without overwhelming their child.
