Mathematical Reasoning D (Grade 3)
Level D brings together many of the skills that turn students into confident problem solvers. Across 360 colorful pages, third graders strengthen their understanding of multiplication, long division, fractions, decimals, measurement, geometry, coordinate grids, and mathematical patterns.
As the concepts become more advanced, the emphasis on reasoning remains. Good supplement

This is a great supplement/extra practice to the 3rd grade math book we received with the Elite kit. If she needs a little more practice on certain areas, these pages are great for that and it's easy to just pick and choose a page or 2 when needed. Easy to follow, engaging pictures and problems with enough motivating challenge practice problems.

My daughter is entering 3rd grade and we chose this as part of her curriculum kit for math. It has really nice pages that are illustrated and make the work fun. I like that the pages are perforated. To me, this seems like more of a supplement than a whole curriculum. I think certain concepts need more elaboration and instruction than this workbook provides. But I suppose a parent with more confidence in their teaching ability could make it work. In my case, I will likely use this along with free video lessons from elsewhere to go more in depth and make sure she really gets the concepts presented.

Love Math Reasoning

Okay, in the homeschool world there are choices. I mean tons of choices and opinions. I was going into homeschooling blindly and found Timberdoodle by word of mouth through a friend and I used the beginning lessons for Math Reasoning and it worked so beautifully that we have used it every year since. I do have to sit with them and explain and work out the problems more for them to gain understanding but I would rather do it than put them in front of a computer all day at this point in our lives. So far this curriculum has worked well for us and as I go along I have been brushing up on some math that has been lost through the years.

My 7 year old loves how colorful the pages are. She likes the amount of work on each page. Some books have way too many per page, this one has just enough. In just a few pages it takes you from adding double digit numbers to adding triple digits.

My son really ENJOYS this math! It is colorful and presents a lot of problems that are more related to real world math (ordering food at a restaurant and finding the total or the amount of change you should get). There is enough variety that he doesn't get bored, but also enough review presented in different ways that I feel like he is getting a solid foundation in math.
