What's in the Tenth-Grade Kit
Algebra 2 and chemistry lead the year, both taught with clear, structured programs. Literature and writing continue to develop, and thinking skills focus on applying critical thinking to real-world situations, including advertising analysis and reasoning.History covers revolutions, cultural shifts, and world wars through the twentieth century in the classic kits, or early America in the nonreligious kits. STEM includes hands-on engineering projects such as a solenoid engine and a coding project. Complete and Elite tiers include driving guidance to help new drivers stay safe. The High School Planner continues to track credits and transcripts as your student works toward graduation.
Classic and nonreligious kits differ in history, science, and thinking skills. Compare tiers below to see what’s included, and use the customizer to swap anything that isn’t the right fit.

Paying with ESA, Scholarship, or Charter Funds
Can I use ESA, scholarship, or charter funds for this kit?Yes. Families across the country buy Timberdoodle kits with state scholarships, education savings accounts (ESAs), and charter school funds—and most families who buy a full year of curriculum from us pay nothing out of pocket. See which programs we work with and how to order with yours.
Do I order here, or through my program's marketplace?
That depends on your program. Some let you shop right here on timberdoodle.com and check out with your program's payment method. Others handle ordering inside their own marketplace, where you search for Timberdoodle and place the order there. The guide above walks through each one. If you're not sure which yours is, email us at mail@timberdoodle.com and we'll tell you.
Will I be charged anything myself?
No. When your program orders directly, your program is billed—not you. If you see a balance-due line on a program order, that's the amount your program pays, not something you owe.
My award won't cover a whole kit. What then?
Kits come in three levels—Basic, Complete, and Elite—so there's usually a version that fits your award. Many programs also allow customizing a kit, which lets you swap or drop items before you order. Individual items work too, if you'd rather fill the gaps in what you already own.
Which edition can I use—Classic or Nonreligious?
Your program's rules decide. Most funding programs require non-religious materials, and that's exactly what the Nonreligious edition is: the same kit, built without faith-based materials. Classic is there for families whose program allows it, or who are buying with their own funds.

Each Kit Tier includes specific subjects and courses, starting from the minimum required. Check out the comparisons below to see which Kit Tier is right for you.

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about this product below:
We asked the families who used our 10th grade kit how long their students spent on "school." Most of the families worked on academics 4 or 5 days a week and spent 3-5 hours a day specifically on Timberdoodle materials. It is common for families to spend more or less time than that, so don't stress if your schedule doesn't exactly match up. And, of course, the time you spend will be greatly impacted by how in-depth your student takes their studies, their learning approach, how distractible they allow themselves to be, and much more.
Feeling a little queasy about giving grades? Don't worry—you've totally got this. Grading high school at home might sound scary, but it's really just another skill you'll master, like teaching long division or surviving a field trip to the science museum. Check out this article for tips and suggestions.
Not sure if it’s time to move up? Totally normal!
A great place to start is with our Placement Tests. We have complete tests for younger kiddos to show exactly where they are. For older students, you’ll want to focus on the math and language arts sections to get a good feel for their readiness.
Kids are usually ready to jump into the next kit—with maybe a few exceptions. If your child is heading into 3rd grade but places into 2nd-grade math, no problem! You might want to grab the 3rd-grade kit and simply swap out the math.
If a subject didn’t stick last year, now’s your chance to figure out why.
- Maybe your child just missed a few concepts (hello, summer review!).
- Maybe the curriculum didn’t click.
- Maybe math just isn’t his jam (yet).
- Or maybe he needs a little extra support—and that’s okay!
One of the best things about homeschooling? You’re not locked into a one-size-fits-all timeline. You can customize learning to fit your child and help them succeed at their own pace.
Ready to start exploring? We’re here to help every step of the way!
Nope—and that's totally normal!
Here's the deal: Accreditation is for schools, not curriculum. Your local school district might be accredited, but their textbooks aren't. Accreditation looks at things like teacher degrees and classroom hours, not the books or materials being used. And since Timberdoodle kits aren't a school—they're a collection of awesome learning tools—there's nothing to accredit.
If you see a homeschool program claiming to be "accredited," just remember: it's the school that's accredited, not the curriculum.
And don't worry—no state requires homeschool curriculum to be accredited. (Phew!)
What you really want to know is: "Will Timberdoodle meet my state's homeschool requirements?" In most cases, the answer is yes—we meet or beat what's needed! However, every state's rules are a little different, so we recommend checking yours. (We even have a quick cheat sheet to help!)
Still scratching your head? Reach out—we'd love to help you figure it out!
We've been honored with more than 40 awards from top homeschooling resources over the years. We're talking about the Practical Homeschooling Reader Awards, The Old Schoolhouse Excellence in Education Awards, and Cathy Duffy's Top Picks. Our Elementary Curriculum, High School Curriculum, Kindergarten, Middle School Curriculum, and Preschool/Readiness kits have all earned top awards. We've also been recognized for our Boxed Curriculum and even for being Most Unique. These awards are a testament to how much our customers love our kits! Winning them means receiving very high satisfaction ratings from YOU, our amazing homeschooling families. It truly shows that the time and effort we put into creating comprehensive and engaging curriculum pays off!

Love the kit!
Steph H.
Timberdoodle kits are amazing. We ordered the elite kits and they did not disappoint. The quality of the resources is amazing. I probably would not have found some of these resources on my own. My son is really benefiting from the high quality language arts program. Because he moved from the classroom to homeschooling, we exchanged the included history option for the Nomadic Professor. Being able to do some mix and match is a definite bonus. We love the extras like the art and STEM projects, and the drivers education book and DVD are a great added bonus as well.

Supports world schooling and flexibility…
Vivienne M.
We have been using Timberdoodle curriculums for 4 years now, even taking a break for a year to study abroad in Ecuador in an alternative school and deciding to come back to it as it allows us more flexibility with sports, music, travel as well as keeps us all learning. I think the key for us was finding the complementing extracurricular activities to partake in so that we aren’t sitting with books or in front of computers or with projects inside for too long.

12th year to buy
Karina A.
This is our 12th year to buy a curriculum kit from Timberdoodle. We look forward to trying our all the subjects and games. I especially like that Timberdoodle covers all the basics and then some. It's not perfect, but, overall, we're happy with it.

Our Second Year As Timberdoodle Customers And We Are Happier Than Ever!
Shannon G.
I was very happy with the 9th grade elite curriculum kit so the following year we purchased the 10th grade kit. I was very happy to see we could customize the kit as my daughter is not interested in any computer courses. We promptly removed the You Tube course and kept everything else. I cherish the fact that our teenage daughter does not want to become a zombie to electronics. No smartphones here!!! We highly recommend the elite kits as the extra art projects and games really do break up the book work. We have had a lot of family bonding with the games we play, puzzles we put together, books we read, and art project we complete.

Unhappy
Tamyr M.
I was very excited to order the non-religious curriculum, only to realize that both the history and science (all of the PAC books) are very religious. Every single page talks about religion or god, it even goes as far as to deny the theory of evolution. I'm very disappointed and had to spend a lot more money buying other books for science and history.

Love it!
Jennifer M.
We customized the curriculum for 10th grade and it is working out perfectly. Timberdoodle makes me feel like I’m doing homeschool right. We will keep doing Timberdoodle until graduation! Amazing program.

My daughter enjoys everything that comes in the elite kit. She likes the layout of the English and science.
