FAQs
Have Questions About this Product?

Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about this product below:

We asked parents who used our 5th Grade Kit how long their student spent on "school,” and they estimated that their students spent 2-5 hours a day on their kit, working 4-5 days a week. That variation is likely to be impacted by how in-depth you take your child's studies, what your child's learning approach is, how distractible he is, and much more.

Not sure if it’s time to move up? Totally normal!

A great place to start is with our Placement Tests. We have complete tests for younger kiddos to show exactly where they are. For older students, you’ll want to focus on the math and language arts sections to get a good feel for their readiness.

Kids are usually ready to jump into the next kit—with maybe a few exceptions. If your child is heading into 3rd grade but places into 2nd-grade math, no problem! You might want to grab the 3rd-grade kit and simply swap out the math.

If a subject didn’t stick last year, now’s your chance to figure out why.

  • Maybe your child just missed a few concepts (hello, summer review!).
  • Maybe the curriculum didn’t click.
  • Maybe math just isn’t his jam (yet).
  • Or maybe he needs a little extra support—and that’s okay!

One of the best things about homeschooling? You’re not locked into a one-size-fits-all timeline. You can customize learning to fit your child and help them succeed at their own pace.

Ready to start exploring? We’re here to help every step of the way!

Nope—and that's totally normal!

Here's the deal: Accreditation is for schools, not curriculum. Your local school district might be accredited, but their textbooks aren't. Accreditation looks at things like teacher degrees and classroom hours, not the books or materials being used. And since Timberdoodle kits aren't a school—they're a collection of awesome learning tools—there's nothing to accredit.

If you see a homeschool program claiming to be "accredited," just remember: it's the school that's accredited, not the curriculum.

And don't worry—no state requires homeschool curriculum to be accredited. (Phew!)

What you really want to know is: "Will Timberdoodle meet my state's homeschool requirements?" In most cases, the answer is yes—we meet or beat what's needed! However, every state's rules are a little different, so we recommend checking yours. (We even have a quick cheat sheet to help!)

Still scratching your head? Reach out—we'd love to help you figure it out!

We've been honored with more than 40 awards from top homeschooling resources over the years. We're talking about the Practical Homeschooling Reader Awards, The Old Schoolhouse Excellence in Education Awards, and Cathy Duffy's Top Picks. Our Elementary Curriculum, High School Curriculum, Kindergarten, Middle School Curriculum, and Preschool/Readiness kits have all earned top awards. We've also been recognized for our Boxed Curriculum and even for being Most Unique. These awards are a testament to how much our customers love our kits! Winning them means receiving very high satisfaction ratings from YOU, our amazing homeschooling families. It truly shows that the time and effort we put into creating comprehensive and engaging curriculum pays off!

What Our Customers Have To Say

    Steph H.

I am so happy that we found Timberdoodle and the curriculum kits. When the 5th grade elite curriculum kit arrived, my daughter asked if we could start school early! The choices that they have made to include in these kits are really well thought out. Many are curriculums I had looked into myself and others are even better than what I would have chosen on my own! The literature program is top notch and all strands of English Language Arts are included with the Mosdos Press series, Spelling You See, Doodle Definitions and even the cursive book. Math-U-See is a great help when homeschooling multiple grade levels. She has especially enjoyed the included art and critical thinking games. Timberdoodle kits take the stress out of compiling a year's worth of curriculum for any grade level!

    Best Kit They Have

    Jill W.

The customizer is THE BEST! You can still get everything you need in a kit but customize it to the specific levels or curriculum you want. You want to use AAS 5 instead of SUS level C? Just switch it in the scheduler! Allows you to delete what you don't want or swap for something else.

    So Excited For This Year

    ali p.

We are year round homeschoolers and have already slowly began our 2023-2024 school year. This is our first year using Timberdoodle and I'm so excited we made the switch. All of my kids are already loving it. There is so much variety which makes each day unique and special. The scheduler is an awesome tool to keep me on track. I love a good checklist so it's amazing. We customized each level and changed some of the curriculum choice which was awesome to have the flexibility to do. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about it. I'm loving each and every day and so are my kids. I think we have found what we will be using from here on out.

    Very Comprehensive and Fun

    Melissa H.

We love timberdoodle kits! We especially love the Math-U-See and Critical and Creative. The stop-motion kits was super fun and my kids loved making new videos very often on their own. Great kit!

    Great!

    Nicole C.

I have been putting together my kids homeschool curriculums for the past 10 years. I finally decided to try something that was already together and we love it! So simple to use! We can still customize it as we need. And my children love the extras! Great resource for homeschool families!

    Convenience, Ease & Unexpected Gratefulness

    Karen N.

When we pulled our youngest out of school to home school we also pulled our middle child as well. He likes the History books and the Science and has taken the initiative to look at the weekly lesson plans and do all his lessons on his own. (Yes! It's that easy to follow that my 10 year old is teaching himself, and when he gets stuck he comes and asks for help, which is rare.) However, he is loving the Math books the most and likes to works ahead sometimes and will neglect his other subjects. So we have to watch him! LOL He is not a fan of Doodle America, 101 Doodle Definitions, Dot to Dot, or Draw the USA but that is because of the negative experiences he has had within our local school district. We have also found that he and his brother are both struggling with cursive writing. What's more troubling is the fact that the teachers at our school district have taught incorrect penmanship writing skills to our son that will have to be relearned. Had we not homeschooled our children these things that we have found out about our children would have more than likely gone unnoticed. The other plus is that my children are smiling and happy once again. They are even whistling around the house again! They have thanked me almost every day for the first two weeks for taking them out of school and homeschooling them, and after a month they say that they are still loving it and are back to being excited to telling me what all they and their Dad learned that day. Thank you TimberDoodle for giving me back my family's peace and happiness and for helping my sons continue their education!

We are blessed with this kit

    Vivienne M.

This was our introduction with our youngest to homeschooling, a pandemic hard hit as they stopped going to school or doing online classes and focused on a new model. We loved and continue to love this transition and can’t stop referring it to our friends. We’ve ordered this years curriculum and plan to continue as it has allowed up freedom as a family.
